Preview: South Lenoir Blue Devils vs. Kinston Vikings
South Lenoir is 2-8 against Kinston since December of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The South Lenoir Blue Devils will look to defend their home court against the Kinston Vikings at 6:00 p.m. Hopefully South Lenoir focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Friday.
South Lenoir can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game. They managed a 29-24 win over North Lenoir. The victory was just what South Lenoir needed coming off of a 52-28 loss in their prior matchup.
South Lenoir can attribute much of their success to Tyazhia Midgett, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Gracie Tyndall, who scored eight points along with nine rebounds.
Meanwhile, Kinston was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 52-46 to North Lenoir.
South Lenoir's victory bumped their record up to 6-9. As for Kinston, they dropped their record down to 10-7 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road.
