After starting their season with two straight games on the road, Gilbert is finally coming home. They will look to take advantage of their home-field as they take on the Desert Vista Thunder at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Gilbert will be strutting in after a victory while Desert Vista will be coming in after a defeat.
Gilbert's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Perry 27-0 on the road.
Gilbert found their leader in underclassman Lilah Barton, who threw for 225 yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed for 37 yards and a touchdown. Khalia Dana made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Meanwhile, Desert Vista was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Saturday as they fell 20-14 to Mountain Ridge. The Thunder have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
The win got Gilbert back to even at 1-1. As for Desert Vista, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 1-2.
