Baseball Recap: Desert Ridge Find Success

Desert Ridge lost to Basha back in March of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Desert Ridge Jaguars came out on top against the Basha Bears by a score of 8-5. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Jaguars.

Jared Jimenez looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Desert Ridge got a massive performance out of Kelton Floan, who scored three runs while going 3-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Gamboa, who scored three runs while going 2-for-3.

Desert Ridge now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Basha, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 1-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Desert Ridge is headed away from home for the first time to face off against O'Connor at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Basha, they will venture away from home to take on Cactus Shadows at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Cactus Shadows will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Basha surely won't give up without a fight.
