Softball Game Preview: Wayne Eagles vs. Mynderse Academy Blue Devils

The Wayne Eagles will head out on the road to take on the Mynderse Academy Blue Devils at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mynderse Academy took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Wayne, who comes in off a win.

Wayne was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against School of the Arts on Monday. The Eagles blew past the Silverhawks 13-0. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won six contests by six runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Sam Ray, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. She also put up a double, which was her first of the season. Gianna DePaul was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Mynderse Academy came up short against Lyons on Saturday, falling 10-3. The Blue Devils have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Wayne is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-9 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Mynderse Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-6.

Everything went Wayne's way against Mynderse Academy in their previous matchup on Thursday, as Wayne made off with an 11-5 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
