Basketball Recap: Midway Comes Up Short

Midway was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 41-38 heartbreaker at the hands of the Bryson Cowboys. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1268th, while the Cowboys are ranked 487th).

Midway's loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Bryson, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 12-1.

Midway will take on Aspermont in a tournament on Friday. Bryson and Brookesmith will round out the year against one another at at 12:00 p.m. on December 30th.
