3A Region IV District 27 recap Oct. 3, 2012
Bandera moved up to 650 from 751 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 3A Region IV District 27. The Bulldogs were able to make the jump by beating La Vernia 34-14.
Navarro extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Houston, 30-13. The win marks fourth in a row for the the Panthers.
Bandera's dynamic duo of MICHAEL MILLER and NOAH NELSON proved tough for the Bears to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. MILLER threw for 72 yards and NELSON had 46 yards receiving. CALEB BEAUCHAM helped Bandera's passing attack out by catching three balls for 34 yards.
Zane Conlin was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 17 carries, he ran for 203 yards as Navarro beat La Vernia. Teammate Evan Deleon added to the ground attack by rushing for 118 yards.
On the ground, the Bulldogs' MILLER has rushed for 735 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Daniel Camarillo. The Canyon Lake star has 18 catches for 402 yards.
Boerne took down Lytle 42-8 last week, the largest margin of any game.
