Baseball Recap: Lake Shore Eagles vs. Maryvale Flyers

Lake Shore extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 11 on Saturday, dropping their season record down to 0-9 in the process. They lost 12-1 to the Maryvale Flyers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Flyers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 6-0 back in April.

Lake Shore saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alex Lamoreaux, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double. Samuel Smaldino also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

In other batting news, Dominic Daly was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Jacob Kuciel was another key player, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Coming up, Lake Shore will be playing in front of their home fans against Cheektowaga at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Chargers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.33 runs per game on average), something the Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of.
