Softball Recap: Freedom Takes a Loss

On Wednesday, the Freedom Eagles came up short against the South Lakes Seahawks and fell 10-7.

Ava Godlove made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 4-for-4 with five RBI and one run. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in RBI. Another player making a difference was McKenzie Powell, who went 2-for-3 with one triple and one run.

Freedom dropped their record down to 0-2 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

Coming up, Freedom will head out on the road to challenge Loudoun County at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for South Lakes, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Lightridge at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
