Basketball Game Preview: South Lake Eagles vs. Lake Minneola Hawks

South Lake is 2-8 against Lake Minneola since November of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The South Lake Eagles just played last yesterday, but they'll still welcome the Lake Minneola Hawks at 7:00 p.m. South Lake will be strutting in after a win while Lake Minneola will be coming in after a loss.

On Monday, South Lake greeted the New Year with with a 43-24 victory over Tavares. That 19 point margin sets a new team best for the Eagles this season.

Jazmyn Robles and Ella Cochran were among the main playmakers for South Lake as the former posted 19 points and the latter earned 12 points. Those 19 points gave Robles a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Lake Minneola was not able to break out of their rough patch back in December of 2024 as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 66-14 loss at the hands of Wildwood. The contest marked the Hawks' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Lake Minneola's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for South Lake, their win bumped their record up to 5-3.

South Lake didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Lake Minneola when the teams last played back in December of 2024, but they still walked away with a 27-23 victory.
