Camp Verde is preparing for their first region matchup of the season on Tuesday. They will host the Fountain Hills Falcons at 3:45 p.m. Fountain Hills took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Camp Verde, who comes in off a win.
Having struggled with five losses in a row, Camp Verde turned things around against Williams on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-8 victory over the Vikings. The Cowboys' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Reagan Statler and Aislynn Mulcaire made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, Statler didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Meanwhile, Mulcaire pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. At the plate, Statler went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI, while Mulcaire went 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That home run was Mulcaire's first of the season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Clancy Murdock, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Erin Barton also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.
Camp Verde was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Fountain Hills kicked off their season on the road last Monday and hit a couple of potholes. They took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of Arizona Lutheran Academy. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.
Sammantha Hughes made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.
Camp Verde's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Fountain Hills, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
Camp Verde took their victory against Fountain Hills in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 23-5. Will Camp Verde repeat their success, or does Fountain Hills have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
