 Thursday just wasn't the day for P.K. Yonge's offense. They suffered a  tough 16-0 defeat at the hands of the Gainesville Hurricanes  on Thursday. P.K. Yonge has not had much luck with Gainesville recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
 P.K. Yonge saw one different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Emma Mansfield, who  went 1-for-1 with a  double.
 On Gainesville's side,  Leanna Bourdage was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She  didn't allow a single  earned run and  only one  hit while striking out 11 over four innings pitched. Bourdage has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't  tossed less than nine  strikeouts in nine consecutive pitching appearances. Bourdage was also stellar in the batter's box,  scoring four  runs and  stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
 In other batting news,  Braylin Cook was  incredible,  going 4-for-4 with a  home run, four  RBI,  and a  double.  Lana Renicks was another key contributor,  scoring two  runs while going 1-for-2.
 P.K. Yonge's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Gainesville, they pushed their record up to 14-1 with that  victory, which was their fifth straight  at home.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. P.K. Yonge will  take on Cedar Key at 6:00  p.m.  on Friday. P.K. Yonge is strutting in with some hitting muscle, as they've averaged 8.4  runs per game this season. As for Gainesville, they will head out on the road to  face off against  Trenton at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. Trenton will roll in looking for their  seventh straight  win, something Gainesville surely won't give up without a fight.
