Basketball Recap: Fort Wayne Snider Triumphs

It's playoff time, and Fort Wayne Snider had no trouble coming through when it counted. They secured a 58-53 W over the Carroll Chargers on Friday. This was a revenge game for the Panthers: when they faced off against the Chargers last Friday, they had to take a 67-55 loss.

Saniah Sandlin had an outrageously good game as she went 8 for 11 on her way to 21 points along with eight boards and three steals. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Janaya Cooper, who went 6 of 8 to rack up 14 points and five rebounds.

Despite the defeat, Carroll saw an underclassman step up: freshman Cala Haffner almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine boards. Haffner has been hot recently, having also posted three or more steals the last four times she's played. Jersey Paul was another key player, putting up ten points and three steals.

Fort Wayne Snider now has a winning record of 12-11. As for Carroll, their loss dropped their record down to 12-10.

Coming up, Fort Wayne Snider will challenge Fort Wayne Northrop at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Fort Wayne Snider is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.5 points per game this season. Carroll does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
