Basketball Recap: Amherst Comes Up Short

Amherst lost against Westfield Area back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Amherst Falcons were outmatched by the Westfield Area Pioneers and fell 68-27. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 284th, while the Pioneers are ranked 68th).

Amherst has also traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season. As for Westfield Area, they pushed their record up to 21-3 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Amherst will venture away from home to face off against Bonduel at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Westfield Area, they will challenge Adams-Friendship at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Westfield Area is facing Adams-Friendship at the right time seeing as Adams-Friendship is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
