Preview: Lambert Longhorns vs. Milton Eagles

Lambert is on a four-game streak of home wins, while Milton is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Lambert Longhorns will take on the Milton Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Tuesday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Lambert beat West Forsyth 54-50.

Meanwhile, Milton can now show off 14 landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Tuesday. They breezed by Denmark at home to the tune of 76-46. Given Milton's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 26th, while Denmark is ranked 163rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

It was another big night for Nya Smith, who scored 30 points along with five rebounds and five steals. That makes it six consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Milton's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Caroline Young, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds.

Lambert is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 games, which provided a massive bump to their 13-8 record this season. As for Milton, their win bumped their record up to 16-2.

Everything came up roses for Lambert against Milton when the teams last played on January 5th as the team secured a 78-45 win. Will Lambert repeat their success, or does Milton have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
