Soccer Game Preview: Mission vs. Mission Veterans Memorial

The Mission Eagles will square off against the Mission Veterans Memorial Patriots at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Mission's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Last Tuesday, Mission didn't have quite enough to beat Martin and fell 2-1.

Meanwhile, Mission Veterans Memorial kept a clean sheet against Rio Grande City on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Rattlers with a sharp 3-0 win. Layla Ramirez had the honor of scoring the game-winner for the Patriots.

Mission Veterans Memorial's victory bumped their record up to 6-4-1. As for Mission, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.

Mission might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from Mission Veterans Memorial in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. Can Mission avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
