Softball Recap: West Greene Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for West Greene, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Hampton Bulldogs 6-5 on Friday. This was a revenge game for the Buffaloes: when they faced off against the Bulldogs on Friday, they had to take a 7-6 loss.

Morgan Brown made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing six innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits. Brown was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Hayley Arnold was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Miranda Hunter, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

West Greene's win bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Hampton, the defeat snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 5-6 record.

Looking ahead, West Greene will head out on the road to face off against North Greene at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Hampton, they will host Unaka at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Rangers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.5 runs per game on average), something the Bulldogs will no doubt try to take advantage of.
