Hakeem Eubanks threw three touchdowns and
Abraham Nuno caught three as
Valley View (Moreno Valley, Calif.) defeated Vista del Lago (Moreno Valley, Calif.) 42-10 on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a Eubanks touchdown pass to Nuno in the first quarter, the Eagles were up 21-10 at the half.
Valley View expanded its lead to 25 points entering the fourth quarter. VV scored two times in the third, including once on an Nuno touchdown run.
Vista del Lago's lone touchdown came on a 3-yard run by Terrell Lee in the second quarter.
Coming into the game the Eagles had allowed 25.2 points per game this year. The defense really stepped up, holding the Ravens well below their season average of 18.3 points scored per game.
The win was a nice bounce back for VV, which lost to Arlington last week, 22-17. The loss was the third in a row for Vista del Lago. The win broke Valley View's two-game losing streak.
Vista del Lago (2-5) goes up against Poly in a Inland Valley game matchup next week, while Valley View (4-3) locks horns with JW North also in a Inland Valley game.
