Softball Recap: Grove City Triumphs

After losing to Slippery Rock the last time they met, Grove City decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Eagles walked away with a 14-10 victory over the Rockets on Thursday. The game was the first time the Eagles have beaten the Rockets on their field since April 24, 2021.

Remi Stillwagon was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Lily Rihel, who went 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles.

Grove City was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .432. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Grove City now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Slippery Rock, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Coincidentally, Grove City and Slippery Rock will both be playing Hickory the next time they take the field. The Rockets will host the Hornets at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, while the Eagles will head out to face them at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
