Basketball Recap: Thursday's Defeat Ends Broome Street Academy's Winning Streak

After flying high against Portledge last Sunday, Broome Street Academy came back down to earth. The Broome Street Academy Warriors took an 86-81 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Upper Room Christian Royals. The Warriors' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

When it comes to explaining why Broome Street Academy lost on Thursday, don't look at Isaac Foster. Despite the final result, he went 8 of 14 on his way to 21 points in addition to five assists and four steals. Foster is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 40 games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Samuel Acevedo, who posted 15 points along with eight boards and three steals.

Broome Street Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 15-8. As for Upper Room Christian, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Broome Street Academy will face off against Patrick School Regional at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Broome Street Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 16 matches -- so hopefully Patrick School Regional likes a good challenge. Upper Room Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
