Softball Recap: Loveland Sets Scoring Season-High Against Lewis-Palmer

Loveland's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They blew past the Lewis-Palmer Rangers 22-6. The Red Wolves' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Gabby Dixon made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Dixon was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Sophia Peonio was a standout: she went a perfect 1-for-1 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Izabelle Tilton, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Loveland was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .571. They are 3-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

The victory snapped Loveland's losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 3-4 record. As for Lewis-Palmer, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.

Coincidentally, Loveland and Lewis-Palmer will both be playing Pueblo County the next time they take the field. The Red Wolves will head out to face the Hornets at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Rangers will play them later in the day, at 2:00 p.m.
