Volleyball Recap: Newell-Fonda Comes Up Short

Newell-Fonda was the 3-0 winner over Bishop Garrigan when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Mustangs took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Golden Bears on Thursday. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Newell-Fonda actually scored more points across those four sets (89-87), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-22, 12-25, 25-22.

Newell-Fonda's loss dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Bishop Garrigan, their win ended a five-match drought on the road and puts them at 9-17.

Coincidentally, Newell-Fonda and Bishop Garrigan will both be playing Spencer the next time they take the court. The Golden Bears will head out to face the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Mustangs will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
