Baseball Recap: Delmarva Christian Takes Down Ranked Woodbridge

Delmarva Christian faced Woodbridge in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Sunday. The Royals had just enough and edged out the Raiders 4-2. The win was nothing new for the Royals as they're now sitting on four straight.

Jackson Ward looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Delmarva Christian saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Silas Jones, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Malachi Jones was another, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Delmarva Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .346 or higher in three consecutive matches.

Delmarva Christian's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-4. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Woodbridge, with the loss, they broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 12-7.
