Basketball Recap: Hannibal Takes a Loss

Hannibal was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They took a hard 55-38 fall against the Highland Cougars. That's two games in a row now that the Pirates have lost by exactly 17 points.

Hannibal's loss dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Highland, with the win, they broke their seven-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-14.

Hannibal and Highland could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Missouri Rankings. Hannibal (ranked 437th) will meet Kirksville (ranked 172nd) at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Highland will challenge Monroe City at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday down 465 places (515 vs. 50).
