Basketball Recap: Decatur Takes a Loss

Decatur lost against Mountainburg back in November of 2018 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Decatur Bulldogs were outmatched by the Mountainburg Dragons and fell 63-35. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 213th, while the Dragons are ranked 77th).

Decatur has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season. As for Mountainburg, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-3.

Decatur will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Life Way Christian at 7:00 p.m. on January 10, 2025. Mountainburg also won't see the court for a while: their next match is against Acorn at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
