Softball Recap: Graves County Comes Up Short

Graves County had taken Caldwell County down for three straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Tuesday. The Eagles fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 6-5. The Eagles were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Tigers earlier this season, when they won 12-5.

Graves County's loss dropped their record down to 16-15-1. As for Caldwell County, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 15-13.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Graves County will host Hickman County at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Falcons' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Eagles' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Caldwell County, they will face off against Marshall County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Tigers 3.7, the Marshals 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
