Recap: Lincoln Golden Lions vs. Walnut Ridge Scots
The Walnut Ridge Scots typically have all the answers at home, but on Saturday the Lincoln Golden Lions proved too difficult a challenge. They secured a 66-60 W over the Scots. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Walnut Ridge's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lj Foster, who scored 20 points along with two steals. Foster continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Dominique Aekins, who scored 18 points along with four steals.
Lincoln is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. As for Walnut Ridge, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lincoln will face off against Westerville Central at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Westerville Central is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. As for Walnut Ridge, Walnut Ridge and Marion-Franklin will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 30th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Marion-Franklin is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
