Basketball Recap: Grace Community Cougars vs. Carthage Bulldogs
Grace Community couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They received a blow on Saturday as they fell 50-31 to the Carthage Bulldogs. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2018.
Kaylen Igbokwe was nothing short of spectacular for Carthage: she almost dropped a triple-double on 25 points, 14 rebounds, and nine steals. Igbokwe has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more rebounds the last nine times she's played. Another player making a difference was Aleasia Graves, who earned eight points in addition to six rebounds and four steals.
Grace Community will head out on the road to take on Elkhart at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Carthage, they will take on Central Heights at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
