            Basketball Recap: Curlew Cougars vs. Selkirk Rangers        
        
		
        
        
            If Curlew was riding high  fresh off their  76-55 takedown of Columbia last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Curlew Cougars fell  64-51 to the Selkirk Rangers on Tuesday. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup  49-44  back in December of 2024.
 Curlew's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Jake Olson, who  posted 11 points.  Luke Doyen was another key player,  putting up 12  points.
Curlew has  been struggling recently as they've  lost nine of their last 11 contests,  which put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record  this season. As for Selkirk, their victory  ended  a  five-game drought at home  and  bumped them up to 7-10.
 Curlew didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next  matchup,  a  92-47  loss against Northport on the 24th. Selkirk has also  already played their next game,  a  77-25  win against Columbia on the 24th.
