Basketball Recap: Christopher Comes Up Short

Christopher was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They opened the new year with a less-than-successful 32-23 loss to the Sesser-Valier/Waltonville Red Devils. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bearcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 48-27 back in December of 2024.

Christopher's defeat dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Sesser-Valier/Waltonville, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-4.

Christopher will venture away from home to square off against Johnston City at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Sesser-Valier/Waltonville, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Carterville at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Carterville is coming into the game with three straight losses at home, meaning Sesser-Valier/Waltonville will have to defend against a team hungry for a win.
