Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Skowhegan). They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Gardiner Tigers on Thursday, sneaking past 56-54. This was a revenge game for the River Hawks: when they faced off against the Tigers back in December of 2024, they had to take a 43-34 loss.

Skowhegan's win ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-6. As for Gardiner, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-4.

Skowhegan will square off against Nokomis at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Gardiner, they will face off against Erskine Academy at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Erskine Academy's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
