Basketball Recap: Pike Central Comes Up Short

Pike Central lost against South Spencer back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Pike Central Chargers had to suffer through a 58-31 loss at the hands of the South Spencer Rebels.

South Spencer's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Alexis Harris led the charge by going 6 for 12 on her way to 16 points and six assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaci Meece, who went 5 of 10 on her way to 11 points and five assists.

Pike Central dropped their record down to 2-6 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for South Spencer, the win got them back to even at 4-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pike Central will host Southridge at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Southridge will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Pike Central surely won't give up without a fight. As for South Spencer, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Wood Memorial at 7:00 p.m. Wood Memorial will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something South Spencer surely won't give up without a fight.
