Basketball Game Preview: Indiana School for the Deaf Deaf Hoosiers vs. MTI School of Knowledge

The Indiana School for the Deaf Deaf Hoosiers will square off against MTI School of Knowledge at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Indiana School for the Deaf has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Indiana School for the Deaf is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Irvington Preparatory Academy: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Indiana School for the Deaf blew Irvington Preparatory Academy out of the water with a 62-30 final score. The Deaf Hoosiers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 21 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Indiana School for the Deaf to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tiana Starayev, who posted 28 points in addition to six assists and five steals. Starayev is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Jaiden Moses was another key player, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 23 rebounds.

Indiana School for the Deaf smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in December of 2023.

Meanwhile, MTI School of Knowledge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss. They lost 58-33 to Purdue Broad Ripple.

Indiana School for the Deaf is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 11-10 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.2 points per game. As for MTI School of Knowledge, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-14.
