Soccer Game Preview: Cienega vs. Corona del Sol

The Cienega Bobcats will square off against the Corona del Sol Aztecs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Corona del Sol will be up against a hot Cienega team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. Cienega was the clear victor by a 4-1 margin over Buena on Thursday. Considering the Bobcats have won five contests by more than two goals this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Corona del Sol kept a clean sheet against Sunnyslope on Wednesday. They blew past the Vikings 3-0. The result kept the Aztecs happy, as they haven't lost a game since December 27, 2024.

Carson Zink and Gael Aragon scored all three of Corona del Sol's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 12 goals.

Corona del Sol is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 5-6-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up two goals over those five games. As for Cienega, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2-1.
