Baseball Recap: North Comes Up Short

North was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Metro Tech Knights. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 19-7 back in March.

Ivan Sanchez made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. That double was his first of the season. David Marquez was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one double.

North's defeat dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Metro Tech, they moved to 4-6 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North will take on Fairfax at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Stampede have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.5 runs per game on average), something the Mustangs will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Metro Tech, they will square off against Apache Junction at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.
