Volleyball Recap: Pickens' Victory on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Pickens hadn't done well against Ridgeland recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Dragons walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Panthers. The Dragons were shut out 2-0 the last time they took on the Panthers, so the Dragons were just returning the favor.

Edy Wyngaard paced Pickens' offense, picking up 12 kills. Wyngaard got some help from Sophia Derstine and her 20 assists. Derstine was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

The win was the fourth in a row for Pickens, bringing their record up to 15-16. As for Ridgeland, their loss dropped their record down to 2-18.

Pickens didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-1 defeat against Southeast Whitfield County on the 20th. As for Ridgeland, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Chattooga on the 20th.
