Baseball Recap: Del Norte Takes a Loss

Del Norte had lost four straight at home, but on Monday they dropped down to 2-11 to make it five. They came up short against the Eldorado Eagles, falling 26-3. The Knights were not able to make up for their loss to the Eagles from their previous meeting back in March of 2022.

Del Norte saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aiden Parkin, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Parkin is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

As for Eldorado, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 14-2. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.6 runs over those games.

On Eldorado's side, Kaidan Krenik made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits (and not a single walk). Krenik was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Maddox Gonzales was a standout: he went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, two RBI, and one double. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Brady Bond was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.

Del Norte has already played their next game, a 19-1 defeat against Albuquerque Academy on the 7th. As for Eldorado, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 15-3 victory against Albuquerque on the 7th.
