Basketball Game Preview: Lawrence Bulldogs vs. Messalonskee Eagles

The Lawrence Bulldogs will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against the Messalonskee Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Lawrence is coming home looking for redemption after taking a loss in their road opener. They lost to Mt. Blue on the road by a 68-50 margin on Friday. The loss continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now lost six in a row.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Cole Quirion, who went 6 for 13 on his way to 17 points and six assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayden Davidson, who posted nine points.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Messalonskee beat Gardiner 61-55 on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.

Lawrence couldn't quite finish off Messalonskee when the teams last played back in January and fell 59-57. Can Lawrence avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
