Basketball Game Preview: James Island Trojans vs. Ashley Ridge Swamp Foxes

The James Island Trojans will challenge the Ashley Ridge Swamp Foxes at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

On Monday, James Island took their game with ease, bagging a 68-28 win over Stall. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Trojans.

Meanwhile, Ashley Ridge waltzed into their contest on Monday with 17 straight wins... but they left with 18. They really took it to the Wildcats for the full four quarters, racking up an 84-43 victory. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 38-14.

Ashley Ridge had a senior duo take command as Skyla Tuthill posted 22 points and six rebounds and Katie Johnson scored 15 points along with five boards and four blocks. The game was Tuthill's 19th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jameson Foley, who had 11 points.

Ashley Ridge's win was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 18-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.1 points per game. As for James Island, the victory got them back to even at 9-9.

James Island came out on top in a nail-biter against Ashley Ridge in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, sneaking past 65-63. The rematch might be a little tougher for James Island since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
