The Parkway South Patriots will head out on the road to square off against the Nerinx Hall Markers at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Parkway South is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.
Last Tuesday, Parkway South made easy work of Ritenour and carried off a 3-0 win.
Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Parkway South took every set by at least 11 points. The final score came out to 25-7, 25-9, 25-14.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Nerinx Hall's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lutheran. While the Markers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Cougars 25-21 in the first set.
Nerinx Hall started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 21-25, 25-21, 25-18, 25-22.
Parkway South will have to contain Leah Stephens as she made an impact in Nerinx Hall's last game. She had 28 digs and one assist. Ellie Garrett was another key player, getting four digs and three aces.
Parkway South's victory bumped their record up to 15-9-4. As for Nerinx Hall, their loss dropped their record down to 12-19.
Parkway South came up short against Nerinx Hall in their previous matchup back in August of 2015, falling 2-0. Can the Patriots avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
