Volleyball Recap: La Costa Canyon Victorious

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but La Costa Canyon had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Westview Wolverines 3-2. The Mavericks haven't had any issues with the Wolverines recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

La Costa Canyon was dominant in they sets they won, taking each by at least ten points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-14, 20-25, 22-25, 15-5.

Among those leading the charge was Gerrit Van Glabbeek, who had 14 digs and five assists. Those 14 digs gave him a new career-high.

La Costa Canyon's win bumped their record up to 12-18. As for Westview, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 15-20.

Looking ahead, La Costa Canyon will square off against Poway at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The last three games the Titans have played have been within one set, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. Westview does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
