Baseball Recap: Soddy Daisy Beats Upperman for Their Third Straight Win

Soddy Daisy came out on top against Upperman on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run fourth inning. The Trojans took their game against the Bees 8-5. The win was nothing new for the Trojans as they're now sitting on three straight.

Brayden Maynor was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Maddox Eversole, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and three runs.

Soddy Daisy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .593. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive contests.

Soddy Daisy's record is now 11-7. As for Upperman, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Soddy Daisy will take on McMinn County at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Cherokees' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Trojans' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Upperman, they will face off against Smith County at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Owls will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
