Baseball Recap: Grafton Takes a Loss

Grafton fell victim to Northbridge and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They fell just short of the Rams by a score of 1-0. The Gators haven't had much luck with the Rams recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Chris Kiesiner spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Grafton saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Charlie Law, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base. Law has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Grafton's loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Northbridge, their win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Grafton will host Prouty at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Northbridge, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Tantasqua Regional at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The last three games the Warriors have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
