Basketball Recap: Eastern Mennonite Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Eastern Mennonite had to endure a nine-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They snuck past The Covenant Eagles with a 49-45 victory on Tuesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Flames also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2024.

Eastern Mennonite's win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-9. As for The Covenant, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.

Eastern Mennonite and The Covenant could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings. Eastern Mennonite (ranked 281st) will meet North Cross (ranked 57th) at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Similarly, The Covenant will challenge Miller School of Albemarle at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday down 229 places (294 vs. 65).
