Softball Recap: Potts Camp Picks Up Ninth Straight Win on the Road

Potts Camp came out on top against Falkner on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run fourth inning. The Cardinals were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Eagles. Considering the Cardinals have won 13 matches by more than seven runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Alyssa Clifton spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Charlie Holmes, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Kaylee Howell was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Potts Camp's victory was their ninth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-2. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games. As for Falkner, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-20 record this season.

Potts Camp will take on Smithville at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Falkner does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
