Gregori had won ten straight games and Jayson Powers did his part to make it 11 on Wednesday. The Gregori Jaguars came out on top against the El Capitan Gauchos by a score of 69-61 thanks in part to Powers, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 13 boards. He is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down nine or more in the last four games he's played.

Another player making a difference was Rajan Sandhu, who posted two points and six rebounds. What's more, he also racked up two steals, the most he's had since back in November of 2024.

Despite the loss, El Capitan still got an impressive performance from Diego Ultreras, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds. Ian Vasquez Gomez was another key player, going 5 of 9 on his way to 9 points.

Gregori's win bumped their record up to 15-3. As for El Capitan, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gregori will challenge Downey at 7:30 p.m. on January 15th. Gregori is facing Downey at the right time seeing as Downey is stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for El Capitan, they will take on Merced at 7:15 p.m. on January 15th.
