Volleyball Recap: The Oakwood School Takes a Loss

The Oakwood School lost against Pungo Christian Academy back in August, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Eagles fell just short of the Raiders by a score of 3-2. While the Eagles didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Raiders 25-21 in the first set.

The Oakwood School started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 21-25, 19-25, 27-25, 25-21, 15-7.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Pungo Christian Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Patricia Pugh, who had 12 assists and four aces. Those four aces gave Pugh a new career-high.

The Oakwood School's defeat dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Pungo Christian Academy, their win ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-7.

The Oakwood School didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Ridgecroft on the 18th. As for Pungo Christian Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-2 defeat against Kerr-Vance Academy on the 18th.
