Skyridge faced Skyline in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Falcons skirted past the Eagles 3-2. The victory was nothing new for the Falcons as they're now sitting on six straight.
Skyridge took Skyline into a fifth set where they got it done with a seven-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 20-25, 25-21, 25-10, 23-25, 15-8.
Kylie Buttars paced Skyridge's offense, picking up 17 kills. Buttars got some help from Lily Grant and her 43 assists. Grant was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.
Despite the loss, Skyline still got an impressive performance from Maya Grant, who had 18 digs and three assists.
Skyridge's win bumped their record up to 24-2. As for Skyline, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 17-6.
Skyridge does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Skyline, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 loss against Syracuse on the 20th.
