Basketball Game Preview: Chaska Hawks vs. New Prague Trojans

Chaska is on a seven-game streak of home losses, New Prague a 12-game streak of away losses dating back to last season, but someone's luck will change on Friday. The Chaska Hawks will welcome the New Prague Trojans at 7:00 p.m. Chaska knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 11 contests -- so hopefully New Prague likes a good challenge.

Last Tuesday, everything went Chaska's way against Chanhassen as Chaska made off with a 70-47 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Hawks have posted against the Storm since February 16, 2021.

Meanwhile, New Prague had to endure a seven-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They secured a 65-61 W over Waconia on Tuesday. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Trojans' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 289th, while the Wildcats are ranked 62nd).

Chaska's win bumped their record up to 8-11. As for New Prague, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 3-15.

Chaska strolled past New Prague in their previous meeting back in January by a score of 65-49. Will Chaska repeat their success, or does New Prague have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
