Basketball Recap: Cypress Lake Comes Up Short

Cypress Lake was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 46-2 loss at the hands of the Estero Wildcats. The game marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

It was another big night for Amiya Lewis, who posted 16 points and eight rebounds for Estero. The contest was Lewis' third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was London Woods, who put up eight points and six rebounds.

Cypress Lake's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Estero, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cypress Lake will take on Cape Coral in a holiday battle at at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Estero, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Ida Baker at 6:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
