League recap: Central Cambria scores huge upset over Bishop Carroll

The biggest upset of the week belonged to Central Cambria, who took down 439th ranked Bishop Carroll, 26-6. Will Seymour threw for 80 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 49 yards in the win.

Cambria Heights moved up to 183 from 241 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Laurel Highlands. A 24-6 win over Forest Hills helped the Highlanders improve their standing.

Michael VanLenten made the biggest impact on defense this week as Somerset bested Greater Johnstown. The 6-foot-2 sophomore grabbed one sack.

Lukas Kleinmeyer was the best wideout in the league this week as Westmont Hilltop fell to Bedford. Kleinmeyer tallied four receptions for 114 yards. Sam Curry helped Westmont Hilltop's passing attack out by catching three balls for 14 yards.

Tyler Crawford was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 24 carries, he ran for 164 yards as Cambria Heights fell to the Bison. Ben Myers also contributed to the rushing game with 25 yards on the ground.

Tanner Stull put up the best numbers through the air as the Eagles defeated the Trojans. He finished with 10 completions for 156 yards and two touchdowns. Stull's favorite target this week was Zach Baker, who caught three passes for 71 yards.

Richland's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Rams feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Matt Shaffer has thrown for 749 yards and 10 touchdowns this season, while Kyle Flick has 21 catches for 429 yards. Tanner Solarczyk leads the league in rushing with 683 yards.

The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Richland takes on second place Somerset. Richland topped Bishop McCort last week, while Somerset beat Greater Johnstown.

The Rams extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating the Crushers, 17-10. The victory was the fifth in a row for Richland.
